Browser storage, plainly stated

Cookie Policy

The current site has a small storage footprint: analytics on production pages and an optional saved-tools preference in your browser.

What these technologies do

Cookies are small values a website or service can ask a browser to store. Similar browser storage can remember settings without being a cookie. base97 currently uses analytics technology on the production site and local storage for the saved-tools feature.

Google Analytics

base97 uses Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate visits and how pages are used. Depending on Google's configuration and your browser, this service may use cookies or related identifiers. The measurement ID used by this site is G-VYNTLS9S3Z.

Google explains its use of cookies in the official Google cookie policy.

Saved tools use local storage

When you save an item in the Image Tools directory, base97 stores the selected tool IDs in your browser under base97.saved.image-tools.v1. This is local storage, not an account or server-side profile. Clearing this site's stored data removes the preference.

What is not currently used

base97 does not currently provide accounts, payments or advertising, so the project does not intentionally set account-session, checkout or advertising cookies of its own. External websites reached through a link may use their own cookies.

Manage your settings

Browser settings can block or remove cookies and site storage. Privacy extensions may also limit analytics. Removing local storage will clear saved tools but does not remove downloaded files from your device.

If base97 introduces materially different cookie categories, this page will be updated before those practices are described as current.
